MEETING PLACE

Also known as Estación de Santander, this station provides connections to Santander, Balmaseda and León. This is also where the luxury train El Transcantábrico stops in Bilbao. Located next to Abando station, it has a beautiful modernist façade from 1902, the work of the architect Severino Achúcarro, who also collaborated in the urban design of the Ensanche. Situated on the banks of the Nervión River, this Belle Epoque jewel was renovated in 2007. Its rail activity is expected to cease in the future.
