Casa Palencia in the Plaza del Obispo in the city where Don Cristóbal Rojas Sandoval was born, his statue is erected in the square
Casa Palencia (or Etxebestenea) stands on the charming Plaza del Obispo, in the historic heart of the city. It was here in 1502 that Don Cristóbal Rojas Sandoval was born, a man with a brilliant career: Archbishop of Seville, he took part in the Council of Trent and presided over the Council of Toledo, he was also chaplain to Charles V and patron saint of Saint Teresa of Avila. A statue of him was erected in the square near his birthplace, which is now a beautiful hotel, the Hotel Palacio Obispo.
