The museum consists of two parts. The first is a long corridor with large picture windows where the gardens can be admired like paintings. One can approach the adjoining gardens without ever entering them. They have been considered the most beautiful in Japan for over a decade. The second part is more recent. There is an impressive collection of contemporary Japanese artists (from 1870 to the present), including some works by the painter Yokoyama Taikan and the ceramicists Kanjirō Kawai and Kitaoji Rosanjin. Not to be missed.
