Backing onto the castle, the Hirosaki Botanical Garden offers a peaceful interlude in the heart of nature. Some 1,500 species are found in 23 different zones, forming a green setting ideal for a stroll... or a picnic. Allow an hour for the tour. In spring, the blossoms attract a host of photographers, especially during Golden Week. But each season reveals a different atmosphere, always conducive to contemplation. A combined ticket with the castle allows you to enjoy the site to the full (¥520 for adults).
