MUSÉE D'ART D'IWATE
Inaugurated in October 2001, the Iwate Art Museum is located in Morioka's central park, west of the train station, at the heart of a new cultural district. It showcases local artists such as Tetsugoro Yorozu, Shunsuke Matsumoto and Yasutake Funakoshi, while hosting temporary exhibitions on a variety of themes, from the Archipelago and beyond. The museum also offers lectures, workshops and concerts, with the aim of making art accessible to all and becoming a leading cultural center in Iwate in the 21st century.
