Located 6.2 km northeast of the station, this temple, founded in 1912, is best known for its 17 m-high gilded wooden statue of Kannon. In fact, it's the largest wooden statue in the entire Archipelago. The statue was completed in 1963, after almost 12 years' work. But a visit to this temple also includes two pagodas, with two and five levels. If you're lucky enough to visit during the right seasons, you'll see cherry blossoms, azaleas and orange maples. It's a 30-minute bike ride from the station.
