Myosen-ji temple, located on the former site of Sadogashima castle, is renowned for its remarkable five-storey pagoda, the only one of its kind in Niigata prefecture! Built during the Edo period by a master carpenter and his son, it fascinates with its sober elegance and incredible assembly without nails or screws. Listed as an Important Cultural Site, the pagoda is a must-see for lovers of architectural prowess. The temple also features a rare thatched-roof kitchen, used to house the priest. A real curiosity.
