FESTIVAL DE LA NEIGE DE SAPPORO

The Sapporo Snow Festival, since 1950, is the most important event of the Japanese winter season, attracting more than two million visitors to the northern island of Hokkaido every year. Impressive snow and ice sculptures are displayed in the city. They are then illuminated at night. The two main sites of the festival are Ōdōri Park and Susukino. Be sure to bundle up, winter in Sapporo can be harsh.
