The aim of this museum is to show the mutual influence between Japanese and Western art since the opening of the port of Yokohama in 1859. Exhibitions change every three months, and works by artists such as Picasso or Cézanne are highlighted by the museum's magnificent architecture by Kenzō Tange. Unfortunately for visitors, this beautiful museum is undergoing renovation. The reopening is scheduled for 2023. A little patience.

un beau bâtiment avec une présentation aérée d'artistes japonais contemporains, notamment de très intéressantes variations de Yasumasa MORIMURA et ,égarée sur les cimaises, une œuvre de l'allemand Hans BELLMER. A voir aussi pour son cycle de belles expositions temporaires.
