JOSEPH SMITH MEMORIAL BUILDING

This building houses church offices and the FamilySearch Center. Because family is a core value for the congregation, they tirelessly scour the world for genealogical information. As a result, they have recorded several hundred million individuals who lived between 1500 and 1900. This data is stored in the Granite Mountain Records Vault, a bombproof building dug into a mountain outside Salt Lake City. Lay people do not have access to it.
