SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

It is the main American festival of independent cinema. Founded in 1978 under the name of "Utah/US Film Festival" by enthusiasts, it took on a national - and then international - scope in 1981 when Robert Redford, then living in Utah, created the Sundance Institute and took over the presidency of the event.
