Modern and spacious rooms in a hotel, quite economical, with swimming pool, tent and camper site on site.

This small, fairly inexpensive hotel is located a little over 90 km from Furnace Creek Visitor Center. The exterior is a bit faded, but the 15 or so rooms are quite modern, spacious and spotless; a nice surprise, as several of them are equipped with a kitchenette. To relax - and endure the heat - a pool fed by hot springs is available to guests. And while the resort offers places to pitch a tent or park a camper, camp directly in Death Valley.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Our room was clean and comfortable, the entrance doors are a little thin, but we had no safety concerns. The front desk manager gave us the history of the town, which was so cool! We loved walking around the town and exploring, and would love to come back.

A great base camp for your desert adventure. Don’t let the exterior of the motel turn you off. I stayed in the back building, the room was very nice. Heat worked well in the cold January desert night! Will sure come back! (Don’t miss the microbrewery in nearby Tecopa, hidden in the middle of nowhere!)

UPDATE: Stayed in a different room this time in the main building of the Inn. A much better experience than the last visit a few weeks earlier. This King Bed w/kitchenette room was much nicer, with better security door lock system and clean. If you have a choice, stay in the main Inn building – you’re also much closer to the office and firepit (at night). Again, the staff is always friendly and helpful so no complaints there. Added new photos of the latest room, which I would give "4 stars."

Well, this is a tough one to rate. We have stayed here several times now and have always enjoyed this location and the staff at the front desk. This stay was really no exception, but I must be honest in our experience this time around. First, the staff is always polite, friendly, and helpful. They do offer you bagels, fruit, yogurt, and coffee for breakfast snack inside the front office. While the rooms are very large and have all the standard amenities, the house cleaning could be improved upon. See photos, refrigerator was covered in dust, the drawers had dead bugs in them and the door sill to the room had a large space/gap that almost anything could crawl under. Would we stay here again – the answer is yes, but you really do not have much of an option since it is the only inn in town. We do like this place and only hope they can improve on the housekeeping, which would make this an even better place to stay.

Fantastic lodging option near Death Valley NP. The rooms are very thoughtfully set up--soft towels, kitchenette, ample toiletries, comfortable bed, etc. However, unless you sleep like a rock, you'll want noise canceling headphones! The walls are paper thin. You'll hear your neighbors talking, coughing, and snoring. Also note that the front desk is only staffed in the afternoons, so plan ahead and don't lose your key.
