This tour takes you inside the dam's power plant and, depending on your admission ticket, into lesser-used technical areas. Built during the New Deal, it is one of the largest dams in the United States. The plant generates power for hundreds of thousands of people in the region. For the record, the main characteristics of the plant are as follows: year of commissioning 1936, number of main turbines 17, power 2,080 MW, annual production 4,200 GWh/year.
