This cute place is tucked away, such a cozy fun atmosphere. Staff is amazing and attentive. They immediately bring you fresh chips, salsa AND queso. Great portion sizes. Good is oh so good
We traveled to San Diego from Idaho for spring break. We ate there 8 years ago and I made it a point to come back when we visited Coronado Beach. Staff, atmosphere, and food were all as great as I remembered. Thanks for making every visit great.
Vegetarian choices were not exactly plentiful, but at least reasonable. The black bean and corn enchiladas contained sweet potato that could have been cooked a bit longer - still the dish, with ample rich, flavorful sauce, was successful. The waitstaff was outstanding. The ambiance was colorful and welcoming. The hostess was uptight and curt - maybe she was having a bad day, and I hope tomorrow goes better for her. The Mangorita mocktail, served in a glass rimmed with salt and chiles, was deliciously satisfying.
Great dinner at Miguel's. I had Carne Asada Tacos and Kay had the Empenadas. Chips came with Hot Queso & Salsa. The Margaritas hit the spot too! Highly Recommend this place.
I love finding a new favorite place!! We went for lunch yesterday after being at the beach all morning. Great central spot in Coronado, we easily got a table on patio which was really nice. The chips and salsa are really good and they give you queso! The food, drinks and service were all great. The vegetarian options were better than most Mexican restaurants and i had a hard time deciding what to get. Looking forward to going back!
Excellent restaurant with the most friendly service and waitstaff. Large portions of food and quick service. I absolutely loved this place with excellent atmosphere.
What an amazing experience!! Jules and Max were absolutely fantastic as well as the rest of the team that made our dining experience perfect! We were promptly seated and the drinks and food came out sooner than expected. Every employee we encountered was friendly and professional. We had skinny margaritas, the shrimp quesadilla and the shrimp omelet from the brunch menu… absolutely delicious!
We can’t wait to visit again????
It’s a lil tricky to find the way to the actual restaurant from the main road. Even though there’s an entrance, it’s always closed. The atmosphere of the restaurant is vibrant. Happy hour offer is there. I felt the potion of a meal is too big for a person. May be it’s just me.
It’s almost full during the happy hours. The lights and deco around the interior was amazing and they lit up the mood.
I recently revisited Miguel’s Cocina, and as always, it was a delightful experience. Nestled away on a side street, this restaurant is a hidden gem that you might miss if you're not paying attention. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with a charming back path leading you to the entrance.
The food, as expected, was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed their Spanish rice and chips with salsa. I've been here several times, and the quality of the food has always been consistent.
However, I did notice a slight decline in the service this time around. Our server was a bit laid-back, and we had to ask for drink refills. She also didn't check on us as frequently as we would have liked or get us more chips and salsa.
Despite the service hiccup, I still think a visit to Miguel’s is worth it. The food and atmosphere more than make up for any minor inconveniences.
I always enjoy dining here on my trips to Coronado.
We eat at Miguel's Coronado at least once every time we visit San Diego. It's always delicious and the service is excellent. Cesar M. was our server last week. He was fantastic. He was pleasant and attentive and so helpful about splitting our check and boxing our leftovers. Miguels is fortunate to have Cesar representing their brand!
We had a very nice Happy Hour with some out of town friends.
Service is OUTSTANDING. Our waiter Julio was extremely professional, courteous, & efficient.
All of the food the four of us ordered was VERY GOOD, DELICIOUS & PLENTIFUL.
Would like to pass on a SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Brigatine/Miguel’s General Manager: Mr. Jack Hayes. Since we had never been to this Miguel’s I reached out to the restaurant online. Jack Hayes responded very efficiently, provided details we needed, got us a great table and ensured the 4 of us were well taken care of.
THANK YOU JACK! You are the BEST GM that I have had to deal with.
Extensive menu that had promise but everything we tried was underwhelming. The chips were really fresh but really thick, to each his own. But the white jalapeno sauce had almost no kick to it. The regular roja salsa was pretty good. The Mexico City-style quesadilla had some not very crispy chewy pork belly. The Mexican Caesar salad was actually pretty good. The camarones a la Diabla was barely spicy. It kind of tasted like they cooked the vegetables in the sauce and then dumped cooked shrimp in with them.
By the way, there menu online is different than in person.
Cocktails were pretty tasty but pretty skimpy, mostly crushed ice. I'd give them a solid extra 1/2 star for cheerful friendly attentive service. But none of the food made me feel like I wanted to return. 3.5 stars
Service was very prompt, there was a good selection of food and drinks, including both Mexican and local beers, and the food was very well prepared.
The service was also excellent!
