Hermit Gulch Campground is the only campground in Avalon, California, located within the city limits. It's located in Avalon Canyon, near the Wrigley Memorial and Nature Center and the Botanical Garden. The campground offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills, home to a wide variety of endemic plant and animal species. The Hermit Gulch trail is accessible from the campground, and there is also access to other hiking trails nearby. Hermit Gulch is ideal for beginners and experienced campers alike. Its proximity to the town provides easy access to grocery stores, stores, restaurants, sightseeing and nightlife. The campground offers tent cabins with cots, gas stove and lantern.
