Elegant hotel that has won the hype on all levels, from design to clientele in Los Angeles
Don't let the austere façade fool you. Just a 2-minute walk from the beach, Viceroy Santa Monica is the epitome of hype on all levels: from the design to the clientele, everything here is elegant. The decor, by Kelly Wearstler, is inspired by British colonial style. Idyllic, the high rooms on the sea side have beautiful views of the Pacific and echo the waves at night - prefer the other side if you're a light sleeper. The icing on the cake: two outdoor pools with cabanas.

Killer hotel and amazing location. Customer service was top-notch, especially Jon at the front desk. Jon went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay.
Will be back.

incessant disruption caused by striking hotel workers every morning at 7 am. It's unacceptable that this has been going on for a year without any resolution or consideration for the guests, or citizens around the building. The noise and rudeness of the workers made it impossible to have a peaceful stay. Management needs to address this issue immediately for the sake of their guests' comfort and satisfaction. Avoid this hotel if you value your peace and quiet. Pretty pathetic, and selfish for many many reasons.

Okay I absolutely love this hotel!! For the price range, the location and service is absolutely top notch!! It's giving 5 star level. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms are very very quiet and comfortable. The staff are very on top of their game and are ten steps ahead of you which is super hard to find in any industry post covid. Clean and comfy beds. Nice bathrooms and good pressure in the showers. The gym is pretty basic with one treadmill working when I visited but at least there are some dumbbells. Again, cannot say enough about the staff.

It’s a lovely hotel with nice rooms, but it is not worth staying there right now due to the union protests that happen every morning around 7am. The protests start with police sirens sounding non stop and waking everyone up at the hotel. I was told this has been going on since summer 2023!!!

I stayed for 3 nights and I was almost charged $300+ for the valet parking and resort fee which I was not aware of during booking. This additional charge was more than 1/3rd of my original booking price.
There was a major disturbance during early morning with the some workers strike which was happening literally at the entrance of the hotel
