The 2 young white male workers here were extremely rude. One was cussing the whole time just because a couple passing through said they had their car parked in the lot (they needed the handicap parking.) One of the male employees told them they aren’t allowed to park there and need to leave, they kept explaining they have a handicap parking spot, he said ok and they said thank you and walked to their car. As soon as they walked away, he started cussing for them to get the F-out and called them F’n idiots, all while I’m waiting for my coffee to be made. His colleague was making my coffee and talking to him about the customers and how stupid he thinks they all are because they park in the wrong spots. They both had a full on conversation talking poorly about each customer they encountered, all while I’m standing there. The one that was upset about the couple, was also slamming everything as he was closing down shop. Even when I ordered my coffee, I asked to sub the milk for almond milk. The one who went off on the couple took my order and asked if I wanted boxed almond milk or another kind, tbh I didn’t know the difference so I told him I’m not sure. He rolled his eyes and went “ok then boxed” and his coworker yelled “oh we got another, ANOTHER ONE really…” as he was preparing my drink. Extremely uncomfortable and obvious that these 2 entitled brats don’t have common courtesy for the people they service. This is definitely a place to avoid if around the Griffith park area. I truly came here because I saw videos of this place and wanted to try it out, but after experiencing this and considering that I’m a totally different race… this felt uncomfortable, inconsiderate, and degrading. Do not come here. Not worth the visit and humiliation that was felt.
We love this place. At the foot of the Ferndell observatory loop it offers healthy sandwiches fresh lemonade and some tasty snacks. On hot days there's usually a line and they're not open Mondays. But they're definitely dog friendly with the water bowl and treats at the window if you ask - or your dog asks. We've seen this place transition over the years and it is really become a nice place to sit out and enjoy the park at one of the picnic tables, up in the hay Circle or just under the trees. Nice friendly people too. But shhhh. Or else it will be overrun with tourists
So disappointed food was not all that!! I got the Quiche and my kid got the avocado sand. Which was a bit better than the frozen quiche warm in the microwave definitely not worth $30. The service definitely not good young people on their phones looked bother to have customers in a rainy day…
Amazing gluten free options, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Best GF doughnut I've ever eaten. Great spot for something to eat and drink after a hike.
Alot of good unique options, the peach scone was amazing as well as egg in a basket. I want to go back while I'm here and try a couple more things if time and budget allows
Super cute little snack bar in the middle of the park! A little tricky to find if you didn’t drive in but just look for the jungle gym playground and walk out to the parking lot and you’ll see it directly across
I had been coming to the park for more than a year (not regularly but still) took me up until recently to find this haha
Anyways great outdoor seating area, big enough for parties/picnics/etc
I’ve only had the fresh squeezed lemonade but that was delicious, and they actually have a good selection of baked goods and a couple of lunch meal items like sandwiches and chips
It’s only open till 4 pm and closed on Tuesday and Wednesday
The workers are super nice and friendly and I really like this place! If you ever go to Griffith park definitely worth checking out
