It is the employers job to keep their employees happy, and healthy. It is not the general public’s job to pay for it when you add a transaction fee on all your orders because you don’t want to provide better wages, or health insurance for your employees. You guys are entitled, and outrageous!
I had some time to kill before a Pilates class across the street and ordered a decaf cappuccino and butter croissant, dine in. The price was 13 dollars including tip which is a little steep but for the location, to be expected. My croissant was perfection. Flaky and golden on the outside and a nice chew on the inside. My cappuccino took a while and arrived rather cold. I enjoyed the service and music selection (music also wasn’t too loud) but the banquette seating was literally falling apart. For such a posh establishment with the prices to match, my seat shouldn’t be coming apart beneath me.
I can now say with certainty that this is the best coffee shop in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is the main selling point here. The coffee and food are remarkable too, but this is the coffee shop you come to spend a couple hours at.
Great spot with a wide variety of breakfast and brunch options. Casual atmosphere however finding a parking spot could be challenging. Always packed on the weekend however the line moves quickly.
They have changed their menu but they have not updated their online website. if you rely on the menu you see on google, you will be surprised to see a different menu when you get there. They don’t do burger anymore by the way!!
I was staying in Silverlake and stopped here for coffee and cake while out on my bike. I loved it so much I went back the next day, and when I got home I started a subscription of the Velvet blend!
The tips don’t go to the staff, the employer takes every dime. This place is corrupt and uses your money to underpay their over worked staff. Support a business who cares about their employees and uses their profits to pay them a living wage, not a business who steals their employees tips and call it an hourly wage.
Adorable cafe in Silverlake - the interior was cute with nice framed pictures on the wall, good seating, indoor and outdoor, and the service was good. There’s a free water station but the water tasted like tap water and it didn’t taste as appetizing, they have a limited gluten free menu but I tried the arugula peach salad and my friend had their nachos dish (forgot what it’s called but it’s also GF) and it was okay. The salad was good but it was a salad; not mind blowing by any means but healthy and light. It’s a typical coffee / cafe shop and fun to stop by if you’re visiting in the area!!
Grabbed two single origin coffees and two pastries to go. The cashier was very nice and had good recs. There was no clear area to wait for the order and I felt in the way of either workers or customers (it was crowded - every table full). The cafe is gorgeous and very clean. If you're into specialty coffee, this is the place to go. You could absolutely tell the difference between the coffees we ordered - it was really cool. Our muffin was good, but the bread pudding lacked a distinct flavour. I personally thought it was a bit expensive and would favor another cafe due to prices, but this is nice for a unique treat!
