RAK NATIONAL MUSEUM

Founded as a fortress over 2 centuries ago, from the early ^19th century until the 1960s, Fort Al-Hisn, built on ^18th-century foundations, was the residence of the current sheikh's father. It was also a prison for 3 years. In 1987, it became a museum dedicated to sharing the history and culture of the emirate. Residents were so pleased that they donated many objects.
