Armenia is said to be an open-air geological museum. This museum, otherwise known as the Karapetyan Museum, allows you to see some samples, and others from other origins. Armenia is rich in semi-precious stones, if not diamonds or other rubies or emeralds, but the country's emblematic stone is undoubtedly the obsidian, a translucent black, which is still picked up by shovel on the mountainsides on the road to Sevan.
