Historical center with some beautiful palaces and buildings
There are no medieval alleyways in Vibo, but there are a few pretty buildings that are easy to find, given the small size of the old town. These include the sumptuous Palazzo Gagliardi, where Giuseppe Garibaldi stayed in 1860; the neoclassical Palazzo Alcontres; and the Palazzo di Francia with its romantic courtyard in the upper part of Via Gioachino Murat. The Marquis di Francia hosted Murat in this palace during his brief reign, before the latter was shot in nearby Pizzo.
