DUOMO

Totally destroyed in 1943 by bombing during the Second World War, Catanzaro Cathedral was rebuilt in 1960, on the site of the first church built in Norman times, around 1121. The history of the cathedral has been marked by destruction, as it has been ravaged several times by earthquakes. Inside there are several works of art from different periods, including the marble statue of a Virgin and Child attributed to the school of Messina (1595) and paintings from the 18th century.
