Museum housed in the ancient Carmelite monastery of Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi

The Museum of Pre-Classical Civilizations of the Southern Murgia, recently renovated, is housed in the former Carmelite monastery of Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi and in the adjacent church of San Vito (also called "delle Monacelle"). It includes a tomb dating back to the Paleolithic, funerary material from Messapian tombs, and the skeleton of a pregnant woman, who died about 25,000 years ago, found in the cave of Santa Maria di Agnano.
