Extraordinary church, entirely dug in the natural tufa, in Gravina in Puglia.

In a rocky habitat, facing the ravine, this unusual church is entirely carved out of natural tuff. It is the most important rock church in the Gravina region and was the first cathedral in the town. It has a square plan and is divided into five naves by pilasters cut directly into the stone. Its architecture, history and frescoes are worth a look, as are the surrounding troglodyte houses.
