Hikers Youth Hostel is a small establishment located in the heart of Žabljak. Composed of 2 wings, it offers two very different universes, the left part houses single rooms that are comfortable and comfortable for couples. The 2nd offers a completely different atmosphere, dormitories for a younger clientele coming from all over the world. The whole is clean and well equipped. The bigger the house, it is simply the team: Passionate people will start in 4 to meet your expectations and make you live in Montenegro.

Awesome hostel! The key feature of the hostel is the invaluable expertise and advice about hiking and other activities in the area. Great atmosphere, nice people, excellent service.

We (a group in our 30s) stayed here for 4 nights and found the place disappointing. I regret not taking some google reviews seriously - particularly the ones about the attitudes and behaviours of the owners, as this tainted our experience.

The owners appeared to live at the hostel and were often in the communal spaces. This made it uncomfortable as they came across rude and arrogant. When asking about hikes, they prescribed 3, shut people down when they asked about different ones in the area stating “you Google, you die” and they got upset with me when I told them we’d mapped our route using our own map application and scolded me for not having them check it. Apparently it’s a rule to tell them which hike you’re doing. I understand the need for safety and not underestimating new tracks or the mountains, but it felt that there was little autonomy and we were at a children’s camp rather than a hostel.

We found the rooms overpriced. The bikes can be rented at €50 per day (they’re €20 down the road); and a load of washing is €7.

The location is great however and it’s a good way to meet like minded people if you’re a beginner hiker.
