Participatory festival where all the inhabitants of Perast add a stone to the island of Notre-Dame-du-Rocher.

This festival has been celebrating the cultural richness of the city for centuries! For five hundred years, the people of Perast have been sailing boats loaded with stones to Gospa od Škrpjela, the artificial island created by their ancestors.

This is a participatory festival where all the inhabitants of Perast add a stone to the islet of Our Lady of the Rock. The men row their boats to the island while the women leave the shore. Locals walk to the island, accompanied by a cappella singers. The tradition is to throw a stone into the sea.
