The largest of the Skadar lake islands, very green and wild, is home to a small monastery built during the reign of Djurdje I Balšić in the 1370s. The monastic church, with its three apses grouped together in the shape of a cloverleaf, served as an example for the construction of other churches on the lake: that of St. George in Beška and those on the islands of Moračnik and Tophala. You can also visit the church built in 1440 by Jelena Balšić, daughter of the great Serbian prince Lazar Hrebeljanović. A beautiful blend of heritage and natural wealth.
