The birthplace of the national hero, prince-poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš, is still standing and today houses a memorial museum. Located in the center of the village, on the road to Kotor, it was built around 1780 by vladika Petar I, Njegoš's uncle, for him and his three brothers. It's a simple rectangular house, made up of three identical parts and built of exposed stone. It was also here that Montenegrin King Nicholas I was born.
