This vast residence, built in 1608 for a prelate of the Church, was first a rest house
Built in 1608 for a prelate of the Church, this large house with its park was originally a rest house. It was here that Simón Bolívar died on December 17, 1830. Later, the quinta passed through the hands of local families, before being bought by a rich Spaniard who produced panela, a rum. The museum recalls the last days of the Liberator. A pleasant visit, but not a must if you are not a fan of Colombian history.
