Haciendo amigos despertando conciencias ("making friends by awakening consciences") is the slogan of this small and very professional local agency, which mainly offers excursions in the Páramo de Ocetá, with experienced local guides (in Spanish only) and respect for nature. Besides hiking, many activities are offered, such as rock climbing, mountain biking and cultural visits of the city (balloon factories, colonial monuments, etc.). Prices are very reasonable.

Sin duda la mejor agencia de viajes de Monguí, los guias son muy amables y siempre dispuestos a resolver todas las dudas, recomiendo 100% el tour de los balones :D.... Un hermoso pueblo lleno de gente maravillosa.... Volveré y los recomendare siempre

We spent 3 days in Monguí and scheduled four activities with Mongui Travels: the historical tour of Monguí, the hike around Laguna Negra and up to Cuchilla Balcones (a beautiful overlook of the Ocetá Páramo), the hike up to La Peña de Otí (a gorgeous view of Monguí awaits you at the top), and the hike to Lagunas Las Pedregosas (a series of seven alpine lakes surrounded by jagged peaks and a beautiful view of the Siscunsí Páramo and the valley below). Each activity was incredible!
We are terrible Spanish speakers and Anyer did a great job translating everything into English for us and teaching us about Boyacense culture, the Paramo ecosystem, and the history of Monguí.
Ximena was even kind enough to drive us from Bogota to Monguí and back again! I highly, highly recommend Mongui Travels, thank you for everything!

¡Monguí Travels es una compañía fantástica e hizo un trabajo increíble planificando nuestras actividades y guiándonos en nuestras aventuras! Ximena, Anyer, Rodrigo, Antonio y compañía fueron muy amables, divertidos, comunicativos e informativos.
Estuvimos 3 días en Monguí y programamos cuatro actividades con Mongui Travels: el recorrido histórico por Monguí, la caminata por la Laguna Negra y hasta Cuchilla Balcones (un hermoso mirador del Páramo de Ocetá), la caminata hasta La Peña de Otí (un en la cima te espera una hermosa vista de Monguí), y la caminata a Lagunas Las Pedregosas (una serie de siete lagos alpinos rodeados de picos irregulares y una hermosa vista del Páramo de Siscunsí y el valle debajo). ¡Cada actividad fue increíble!
Somos terribles hablantes de español y Anyer hizo un gran trabajo traduciendo todo al inglés para nosotros y enseñándonos sobre la cultura boyacense, el ecosistema del Páramo y la historia de Monguí.
¡Ximena incluso tuvo la amabilidad de llevarnos de Bogotá a Monguí y viceversa! Recomiendo muchísimo Mongui Travels, ¡gracias por todo!
