TAMMINIEMI
A not-to-be-missed place to take a fresh look at a lesser-known aspect of political and diplomatic life
The official residence of Urho Kekkonen, Finnish president from 1956 to 1981, was known as the center of Finland's political and governmental life. Tamminiemi remains furnished as it was in Kekkonen's time, and the museum houses a collection of Finnish art and gifts received from foreign visitors. It's a most interesting visit, offering a new insight into an often overlooked aspect of political and diplomatic life. Interesting temporary exhibitions are also organized.
