BOULEVARD SAINT-GEORGES
Pedestrian axis leading from the cathedral to the panoramic tower. This is the korso, the promenade where locals come to stroll.
This 380 m-long pedestrian thoroughfare (Bulevardi Shën Gjergji) is named after St. George's Cathedral, destroyed in 1968 and replaced by the new Orthodox Cathedral. It links the cathedral to the panoramic tower and the municipal theater. This is the heart of Korça, the korso: the traditional promenade of Balkan cities, where locals stroll in the evenings with family and friends. Here you'll find the Monument to the National Combatant, the Museum of Education, the Gjon-Mili Museum, the Vangjush-Mio Park and cafés with terraces.
