VANGJUSH-MIO MUSEUM
In the birthplace of Albania's greatest Impressionist painter, Vangjush Mio (1891-1957), 40 of his paintings are on display.
This national museum (Muzeu Vangjush Mio) is located just behind the cathedral, in the birthplace of Impressionist painter Vangjush Mio (1891-1957). After studying in Bucharest, Romania, he returned to Korça in the 1920s. A teacher at the French Lycée, he counted a certain Enver Hoxha among his pupils. Renowned for his beautiful landscapes and portraits, the artist painted some 400 pictures, forty of which are on display here: you can see Korça in winter and the neighboring villages of Drenova, Boboshtica, Vithkuq..
