At 2,489 m, this superb mountain dominates the entire Kukës region. Hiking from the village of Brekija.

At 2,489 m, this superb mountain (Mali i Gjallicës) dominates the entire Kukës region, and its summit remains snow-covered half the year round. Forming a massif of its own, the Gjallica is very impressive, overlooking the Black Drin at 250 m above sea level. A 7.5 km trail leads to the summit from the village of Brekija (21 km south-east of Kukës via route SH 26). Allow 7 hours' walk there and back. On a clear day, you'll enjoy breathtaking views over northern Albania, Kosovo and as far as northern Macedonia.
