Representing the national hero, this 6 m high bronze statue dates back to 1959. It is the work of artist Janaq Paço.
This equestrian statue (Statuja e Skënderbeut) dates from 1959. The 6 m-high bronze (12 m with pedestal) took sculptor Janaq Paço (1914-1991) ten years to complete. Here, Skanderbeg appears ready for battle with his impelling horse, goat-head helmet and curved sword. Less well known than the one in Tirana's Skanderbeg Square, this statue was copied in 2001 to adorn the center of Pristina, Kosovo.
