Petit Futé's opinion on KORSAKOV HISTORY MUSEUM
It's a small museum of local history and traditions. The exhibited collections started in 1853, when Korsakov was founded. You will discover the different phases of its history, especially the imperial period and the development of katorga from 1869. The museum also exhibits numerous testimonies of the passage of Anton Chekhov (1889-1890). The writer, who wanted to bear witness to the reality of forced labour, stayed here.
