A 200 km gravel road that can be an ideal shortcut to Valdez or the reverse to Denali Park

As you leave the national park, take the Parks Highway south to Cantwell and turn onto Denali Highway 8. This is a 200 km gravel road, so it's best to check your rental agreement to avoid problems. However, the road is in good condition and well maintained. It can be a great shortcut if you're heading to Valdez or back to Denali Park. It literally takes you to the middle of nowhere. The scenery is peaceful and there are very few cars.
