THE NUCLEAR DOME

It is not really a place to visit, although part of the building is open to the public from time to time. But just for information, the big dome about 100 meters from the lighthouse, is a nuclear infrastructure built in 1960 by the Americans. It was here that nuclear tests for new reactors were conducted. The experiments began in 1965 and ended 3 years later. Due to lack of means for maintenance and security of the site, all the nuclear material was sent back to the United States in 1969 and 1970.
