Temple that is associated with Taiyū Yoshino, Shimabara's courtesan known for his tumultuous love with the writer Jōeki Haiya (1610-1691), disciple of Kōetsu Hon'friend. On the third Sunday in April, a procession of Shimabara Taiyū commemorates the death of the courtesan. It is advisable to visit this temple especially in April during the hanami.
