The temple is one of the first to from Tofuku-ji station. Built in 1526, this Zen temple houses a jewel: Gokō Room Ma. It was built in 1543 and is certainly the oldest shoin-zukuri (style of noble residence dating from the th century). The temple consists of two main sections. First, the main building that has two gardens around it: the "nine mountains and eight marine gardens" to the south and the "cloud garden" to the west. The second smallest point of visit is made up of a tea room called the "moon pavilion". The tea room is private and cannot be visited.
