It is the work of the French architect Léon Claro, heir to the movement initiated at the beginning of the 19th century by Henri Klein, founder of the Comité du Vieil Alger. The architect created a replica of the traditional house of the Kasbah, commissioned by the Governor General on the occasion of the Centenary in 1930. The "native house", as it was also called, allowed the French to discover the different spaces and decorative elements of an Arab house.
