Can we imagine Algiers without the Aurassi? Certainly not. The hotel, designed by the Italian Luigi Moretti, has been a visual landmark in the Algerian landscape since its inauguration in 1973. Its nine floors make it one of the tallest buildings in the city center and its modern cubist-inspired architecture has earned it the nickname "air conditioner. The 1970s interior style, emblematic of the hotel, has given way to a more modern decoration, between design and retro. The "sea view" rooms, with balconies, offer a breathtaking view of the bay of Algiers.

Very spacious rooms. The hotel was renovated.
It is not strictly speaking a charming hotel, but it is the best of Algiers by far. And prices more reasonable than Sheraton or Sofitel, or even the mercure airport.
