Located in one of the most beautiful parks in Geneva, the sumptuous neoclassical Bartholoni villa, dating from 1828, accommodates the collections of the Museum of Science History. It reflects the scientific past in Geneva. You have always wondered what was a hydrometer, an anemometer and a hygrometer? The museum's collection consists of many ancient scientific instruments, microscopes, barometers and astrolabes, books and documents from the families of Geneva scientists (such as the Saussure collection) and from public institutions. Electricity, pneumatic, thermodynamics, magnetism, meteorology, astronomy or medicine are discussed. Commented workshops and visits are organized with practical work. You can discuss about different themes in a friendly atmosphere with the activities for children and adults including a scientific café. Science is popularised here to make it accessible to everyone.
We also go there for the magnificent interior of the host house and for the rich collections of a well preserved heritage.
