Located in Geneva, the Musée Municipal de Carouge is a must-see in Switzerland. Housed in a typical town house set in a magnificent garden, the museum is dedicated to art and the preservation of local heritage. It houses a variety of collections of fine art, sculpture, fine earthenware, modern ceramics and contemporary works of art from the Crédit d'art. Among its treasures are works by artists such as Ursula Commandeur, Yvan Larsen, Noemi Niederhauser, Emile Chambon and Hervé Graumann. You'll also discover the Cottier collection and a donation from painter Rudolf Haas. You can see a variety of paintings and silk embroideries, lithographs, woodcuts, terracotta creations and much more. The museum has hosted a number of exhibitions throughout its history, including the famous "Le Salève, montagne des Carougeois?". If you drop in, you'll have the chance to take part in temporary exhibitions, mostly focusing on local life and heritage.
