BAINS DES PÂQUIS

Popular, it's an incredible experience to try the Bains des Pâquis, for a massage, a fondue or a drink.

From the first wooden baths at the end of the 19th century, the baths have kept their location on the left bank and above all their charm. For Genevans and visitors alike, the Bains des Pâquis is a place not to be missed. A long jetty on the harbour, where you can, thanks to the dynamic association that manages it, bathe, eat, sometimes attend a concert, a tai chi class, get a massage or go to one of the two saunas and hammams. Open from May^1st, one of the hammams remains exclusively for women on Tuesdays and the other is more of a Turkish bath. An open-air solarium, accessible throughout the winter in good weather, completes the offer. A team of professional masseurs and masseuses is available every day from 10am to 8pm, by appointment, in all seasons: relaxation massages, muscle massages, reflexology, lymphatic drainage and shiatsu... A whole life is at stake in these places where the swans meet a motley crowd of characters. Threatened with extinction, saved thirty years ago by the population, the place has since enjoyed an undeniable success. From dawn to night, all ages meet there. A restaurant (on the terrace in summer and in a heated hut in winter) completes this space dedicated to relaxation and well-being. Les Bains des Pâquis; it's a special atmosphere, with a beautiful view of the harbour and the Jet d'eau. It is more than a place, it is part of Geneva's history.
