An unusual place right on the river. La Barje is the quintessential Geneva alternative: eco, socio, ethical. A gypsy caravan on the water's edge, from May to September, an enchanting setting, local produce and recycled waste, ethical drinks and concerts several evenings a week. All of this on deckchairs for a dreamlike escape in the middle of the city. An offbeat escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. A similar concept exists at La Chaloupe à Vapeur, opposite the Musée des Sciences and the Jardin des Nations.
