I stayed at Renaissance Tower Zürich for 3 nights in April.

I want to note that the majority of the service staff were good. The reception, bar, and restaurant staff were kind, welcoming, and happy to help.

I’ve given the service 2 stars as I cannot understand how on earth this hotel is a 5 star hotel. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, and they did not provide a welcome drink upon check-in, and when I asked for one they only provided one glass even though I was checking in with another guest. They declined to provide an early check-in in spite of it being a benefit of the Marriott Bonvoy Elite membership.

The housekeeping is by far the worst issue this hotel has. They failed to properly clean the room (left empty plastic cups out). They didn’t give us new cue tips and didn’t refill the conditioner or shampoo bottles before our arrival. Also the conditioner and shampoo was half diluted with water!!! To a point it was unusable and I went out to buy my own shampoo and conditioner.

You could say I am being picky, but for the price you pay and the supposed 5-star ranking, these things are unacceptable. For the same price one can stay in a much more luxurious hotel in Zürich that does not cheap out on such things.

The location I’ve given 1 star due to it being pretty far from the center. Especially when you consider the hotel’s location, either the price should be less or the standard should be much much higher.

Overall, extremely disappointing, and will definitely not be visiting this hotel again and will also be reconsidering my preference for Marriott hotels.

Yakinindaki tren istasyonlarindan S Bahn veya tramvaya binerek merkeze 10 dakikaya gidebilirsiniz. Onunde ucretsiz bir park alani var. Odalar guzeldi ama eskiydi biraz. Tek memnun kalmadigim sey Bonvoy Platinum Elite olmama ragmen odada da upgrade yapilmadi, kahvalti da ikram edilmedi.

Average hotel that needs an upgrade. The room cleaning could definitely be more thorough. They have a lot of people staying at this hotel -- people on the big train tours operated by Viking, flight attendants from United Airlines, conference attendees, etc. This is a very busy hotel. Many of the hotel staff are friendly and do their best, but there were several who didn't seem to enjoy their jobs. This hotel is located one stop from the centre, so it's not completely convenient for a tourist, but with the train station and trams close by it wasn't too bad. Big plus is its close proximity to the walking path beside the river.

Le staff est vraiment gentils. Les chambres sont spacieuses et l’accès au lounge du dernier étage est très apprécié. La vue y est impressionnante.
L’hôtel a tout d’un 5*! Il est situé pas très loin d’une gare ce qui est très pratique.
Le petit déjeuner est copieux et variés.
C’est déjà la deuxième fois que je viens ici, et je reviendrais avec certitude !

Hotel ist nur bedingt zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer an sich sind nicht schlecht. Wenn denn alles funktionieren würde. In unserem Fall funktionierte der TV nicht, auf dem offenbar alle Informationen zum Hotel enthalten war. Zudem machte sich der Rollladen am Morgen selbstständig und öffnete unaufgefordert (hallo Morgensonne!).

Das Personal scheint zudem überfordert mit seinen Aufgaben. Beim Checkin hatte der Mitarbeiter über 25 Minuten mit seiner Technik gekämpft, bevor eine Kollegin für ihn übernahm. Offenbar sind hier nicht mal die einfachsten Handgriffe bekannt. Es wäre auch nicht verkehrt gewesen den Gast zu infomieren das Probleme gibt. Stattessen wurde das Zahlungsgerät einfach immer und immer wieder ein und ausgesteckt. Eine bessere Schulung des Personals wäre hier wohl angebracht. Die nicht vorhandenen Deutsch Kenntnisse einzelner Mitarbeiter sind dann noch das Sahnehäubchen.

Location is ok, in the eclectic part of Zurich, with nice and safe streets to get lost around on. Wait staff is nice and polite and so is the front desk staff.
Some observations: the room was cleaned half way - trash was left on the table, used coffee cups were never removed, tissues left around the sink, etc. Keys failed to work multiple times - had to exchange three times in one day. Breakfast is pretty decent, but boiled eggs were raw. The rest of the eggs were removed quickly but a replacement never came out. Sorry, but this is not a 5 star hotel. 3 at best and even that is generous.

Das Hotel liegt ca 20 min mit der Straßenbahn 4
vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt.Der Empfang durch die jungen Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterin war sehr freundlich . Das Zimmer 1126 war geräumig. Badezimmer und seperate Toilette können nur mit einer Schiebetür geschlossen werden.War etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig...Die Lounge war gemütlich .Frühstück war reichhaltig die Servicelräfte durchgehend sehr freundlich und kundenfreundlich.

Tolles Hotel mit genialer Aussicht . Frühstück war super. Aber das beste ist der Service in dem Hotel , alle Mitarbeiter wunderbar und hilfsbereit .

This hotel consistently tries to claim that all prepaid reservation on Marriott website are non-refundable. This is absolutely wrong, often prepaid rates are like "prepay in full, non-refundable if cancelled less than 1 day before arrival" or "prepay in full, non-refundable if cancelled more than 1 day after booking". However this hotel's front desk on 2 occasions (one in 2021 and one just recently) tried to deny me refund even when a reservation is cancelled within the prescribed timeframe.

I recently had an extremely unsatisfactory experience at the Zurich Renaissance Hotel, despite my platinum elite status and a decade-long loyalty to Marriott. The check-in process was lackluster, providing no acknowledgment of my loyalty over the years.

The room, while appearing clean, presented a multitude of issues. The drain was clogged, the shower head leaked water, and there were even urinal flies in the bathroom. The door security latch was malfunctioning, compromising my sense of safety.

What added to my frustration was an intrusive knock on my door shortly after checking in, despite the prominent "do not disturb" sign. This disrupted my sleep and left me thoroughly dissatisfied.

As a loyal customer, I had high expectations for my stay, especially when it comes to two crucial elements in a Marriott hotel – a peaceful and restful experience and a sense of safety and security. Unfortunately, both were sorely lacking during this stay, making it the worst experience I've had with the brand in the past decade. I expected more from a brand that I've trusted for so many years.
