The forts of the Cherbourg roadstead, the largest artificial roadstead in the world at Cherbourg-en-Cotentin.
The work lasted more than 70 years, making this the largest artificial harbour in the world. And the harbour of Cherbourg is logically dotted with forts. They are immense and are named: Fort de l’Ouest, Fort Central, Fort de l’Est and Fort Chavagnac. Unfortunately, these architectural feats cannot be visited. You’ll have to make do with getting close to them by boat, with various options available from the port of Cherbourg, just a few miles away!

quand vous êtes sur la saline, continuer sur la piste cyclable de plus de 5 km, vous longer la mer pour arriver sur les premiers forts, ca fait une sacrée ballade aller retour
