PARC BABUR
Go there and contact
The starting point for a stroll through Namangan, Babur Park replaced the former Governor's Gardens, created in 1884. Later renamed Pushkin Park, it housed a statue of Lenin, which disappeared after independence. Since then, the Uzbeks have reinvested the site to set up their chaikhanas and name it after the last Timurid emperor, Babur. Its shady alleys, intersected by canals and ponds, are home to Independence Square, where official celebrations take place and families, couples and friends come out on weekends.
