Built at the beginning of the last century, in 1915, this highly photogenic mosque is distinguished by its immense dome topped by the Islamic crescent. With a diameter of just over 14 m, it is one of the largest in Central Asia. In the 1990s, it was home to Namangan's Wahhabi organization (or Salafism, a fundamentalist Sunni Islamic reform movement). Closed, it has since reopened as a school for students of the Mullah Kirghiz madrasa.
